James L. DeSantis, DDS, MD

At Mountain View Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, PC we practice the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with personalized care and expertise ranging from repair of traumatic facial injuries/fractures to corrective jaw surgery to wisdom tooth removal.  Jim performs a full range of endosseus dental implant and bone grafting procedures. The staff is trained in assisting with sedation and other procedures within our state-of-the-art surgical suites set in a comfortable craftsman mission style office building overlooking the valley.

The office is located at 535 Columbia Drive, Johnson City, NY.

The view over the valley is exquisite from the large picture windows across the back of the building. Deer, turkeys, hawks, bunnies (even the occasional coyote!) can often be seen from the waiting room looking over the Southern Tier. The very serene setting is quite rural and relaxing despite being only two minutes from the Route 17/ Southern Tier Expressway exit 70 North. There is a link to the office map noted above.

We are very proud to offer Cone Beam Low radiation CT Scanning with a Carestream 9300 which offers “unmatched safety, resolution and integration” into our patients’ treatment planning. This particular machine shows the largest commercially available cone beam and is even FDA Approved for ENT/Sinus scanning which is utilized for patients who desire the much lower radiation offered with cone beam technology vs. traditional CT Scanning. The office performs CT scans on our own implant, pathology and other patients as well as accepts referrals for imaging of other dentists, surgeons, primary care physicians and otorhinolaryngologists for their use. Off-site certified radiologist evaluation of the images is available.

For information or to schedule a prescribed CT call us at Johnson City/ Greater Binghamton Office Phone Number 607-729-5900.

IMPLANTS:

Replace missing teeth: Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. A wide range of Dental implants are offered from single to multiple tooth replacement, prosthetic attachments and are an exciting adjunct to peoples’ lives. Our case history is in the thousands of fixtures placed and ranges from single tooth replacement to cancer and trauma reconstructive endeavors.  We strive to help patients rediscover the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life.  As stated, not only can missing teeth often be replaced but removable prosthetics/ dentures can bet stabilized for a never before achieved retention and fit. This is often invaluable for the patient with a “resorbed jawbone” who lacks the alveolar ridge to provide traditional denture stabilization.

The presentation below does a very nice job explaining the procedure and introduces patients to the many benefits of implants…
